The Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) launches today, 27 January 2010, its new Forensic Laboratory. Recently strengthened by the new PAO Law, the PAO established the laboratory to provide support to public attorneys, its indigent clients, other government agencies and non-governmental organizations.
Aside from the usual capabilities of forensic laboratories in forensic medicine and forensic microscopy, the PAO Forensic Laboratory has expertise in Forensic Osteology and Osteometrics, Forensic Odontology, Forensic Archaeology, Bloodstain Pattern Analysis and Crime Scene Reconstruction, Evidence and Forensic Photography.
Aside from the above mentioned international forensic organizations, the PAO Forensic Laboratory had established links with forensic experts from Melbourne, Australia (Dr. John Clement, Forensic Odontologist and Disaster Victim Identification expert), world-renowned criminalist, Prof. Herbert McDonnel, Director of Forensic Laboratory in New York, USA, bloodstain pattern analyst Craig Moore from Canada, and crime scene reconstructionists Laura Pettler (South Carolina, USA) and Anita Azannin (New York, USA).
